The Secretary of State for Vocational Technical Education, Agostinho Francisco Langa Júnior, launched the First Stone of the 2nd phase of the project for Strengthening the Capacity of the Industrial and Commercial Institute of Matola for Technical Education on the 10th of June this morning. The launch, which was attended by the Secretary of State for Vocational Technical Education, Vitória Diogo and the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of South Korea in Mozambique, Choi Won-Sok, aims to initiate the second stage of the intervention process of this Technical Education institution, budgeted at about 7,000,000.00 (seven million) US dollars, to be implemented for a period of 05 years (2019 – 2023).
In his speech, the Secretary of State for Vocational Technical Education said that the Government’s objective is, and always will be, to promote a Professional Education oriented towards know-how, guaranteeing citizens access to quality technical-professional training. and relevant.
“This project has, among other purposes, contributing to the production of qualified technical labor for the labor market and the consequent economic growth of the country; Promote bilateral relations between the Republic of Korea and the Republic of Mozambique; Rehabilitation of the Institute’s facilities; Equipping classrooms and all offices in the administrative block;” – added the leader.
According to the Secretary of State in Maputo Province, Vitória Diogo, the Council of Provincial State Representation Services launched on 17 November 2020, the Movement for the Revitalization of Professional Technical Education Institutions, with a view to guaranteeing a professional education that formats the human creature with valences, skills, vision and attitude at work, focusing on professional training that responds to the needs of the most industrialized province in the country.
According to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Korea in Mozambique, the Government of Korea has been supporting the Government of Mozambique in the process of stimulating Vocational Technical Education, also emphasizing that the materials invested today will largely provide trainees with a quality training.
The event also included the delivery of equipment to the Chemistry laboratories of the Instituto Industrial e Comercial da Matola.
It should be noted that the same is carried out within the scope of cooperation between the Government of Mozambique, through the Secretary of State for Vocational Technical Education (SEETP) and the Republic of South Korea, through the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
